DC Ranch is a luxurious 4,000-acre community in North Scottsdale that sits at the base of McDowell Mountains, just north of Bell Road and east of Pima Road. The area was formally a cattle ranch and was developed by DMB Associates, with the first homes completed in the late ‘90s. New construction continues today, with the majority of the neighborhoods behind gates. The architect for the DC Ranch community was Vernon D. Swaback, who was a young apprentice to Frank Lloyd Wright. There are mountain, desert and golf views available, with housing options that include condominiums, townhouses, patio homes, attached villas, semi-custom homes, and custom homes.
DC Ranch real estate was built to complement the surrounding desert and consists of 25 neighborhoods within four residential villages: Country Club, Desert Camp, Silverleaf and Desert Parks. These neighborhoods are connected with 33 miles of walking trails and each neighborhood has its own community park. There are two community centers (Desert Camp and Homestead) with tennis courts, basketball courts, pools, fitness area, playgrounds and even a community-run theater playhouse. The upscale DC Ranch Village Health Club & Spa is also within the community and has great amenities, including a tennis club and summer camp for kids. From the Village Health Club, you can access trails to hike or mountain bike the McDowell Sonoran Preserve, which when completed will be the nation’s largest urban land preserve. Also within the community are two private country clubs, DC Ranch Country Club and Silverleaf Club. Both have top rated golf courses and have tennis, swimming, fitness area and banquet rooms.
There are three shopping complexes with upscale and eclectic retail stores and restaurants: Market Street, Canyon Village and DC Ranch Crossing. There is even a fire station located in the Market Street complex. If you want to venture out of the area, Old Town Scottsdale, Kierland Commons, Scottsdale Quarters and the Talking Stick Resort are just some of the places you can go that are between 15-30min away. There is easy access to the Loop 101 and the Phoenix Scottsdale International Airport is only 25 minutes away. The community is within Scottsdale Unified School District, with children attending Copper Ridge for kindergarten through 8th grade and Chaparral for high school, with Notre Dame Preparatory High School being a private school option that is only 10 minutes away.
